Content Standards

All content published on MESA Cultural Heritage Encyclopedia is derived from institutional data sources. We adhere to the following editorial standards:

  • Accuracy — Every fact, date, classification, and attribution reflects the source institution’s published data.
  • Attribution — All data is attributed to its source. We clearly identify The Metropolitan Museum of Art and UNESCO as our primary data providers.
  • Objectivity — We present data without editorial commentary or value judgments about artworks, cultures, or traditions.
  • Completeness — When data is incomplete (e.g., unknown artist, uncertain date), we display the available information without fabrication.

Corrections

If you identify an error in our content, please contact us. We will verify the claim against source data and publish a correction if warranted. Corrections are applied to the live entry — we do not maintain a separate errata page, as all corrections are reflected in the data itself.
